the late arrival of baylor adelaide

After much waiting and thinking on the subject, I am happy — no, ecstatic — to tell anyone who will listen that my baby daughter has just arrived!  Baylor Adelaide Harrison was born at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009, in Dar es Salaam.  She weighs in at 7 lbs, 10 oz, and Tanzanian hospitals apparently don’t concern themselves with the lengths of babies. Nor did Baylor concern herself with the length of her mother’s labor.  Christie, my incredibly strong and brave wife, was in labor for over 12 13 1/2 hours — and was never given a thing for the pain (other than my hand to “anaconda squeeeeeeeze”).  Christie and Baylor are both happy, healthy… and tired.

Praise God.  Every good and perfect gift comes from him.  May Baylor be blessed by him, in order to be a blessing to others.  May Christie and I lead and tutor our daughter into the life which God has intended for her.  And may God receive all the glory and praise.  For he is good… so good.

  8. God is, indeed, good. First babies usually take longer. May our Father in heaven bless you all richly.

My wife and I have prayed that the Lord will take Baylor and give her to His Son…..before she entered this world…..and we will continue to pray that prayer.

P.S. Praise God that Baylor looks like her “mom”!:) Just kidding….I see both of you in her.
