hey, me and the guys are getting the blog back together…

I had brisket for dinner tonight.
[Is that a strange first sentence for my first blog post in two years?]

And it was delicious.
[You see, though, the second sentence wouldn’t have made any sense without that first one.]

Our family is currently in the US.  We’re about half-way through a 9-week furlough / home assignment.  We’re visiting with family, reporting to sponsoring churches, and trying to do some fundraising.  Also, tonight I’m in the mood to make promises:

I commit to post to the blog at least twice a month.

Several former readers have asked during our time in the US why I don’t blog anymore.  And at least as many non-readers have asked me if I have a blog where I update interested folks on our lives and work in Tanzania.  So I’ve decided to resurrect aliens and strangers.  It may be different — I’ve probably changed a little bit over the last couple of years (and I’m guessing none of those changes have to do with improved writing ability) — and I’m not promising it will be interesting, or even informative.  But I am going to start writing some on the blog again… at least two posts per month.

Thanks for still being here,

Hey, great meeting at MRN. Glad to see you again and hope to see you in Geita (maybe next year). Send me an email and tell me what you need concerning fund raising (maybe Homewood could help).
